Why Alpus Project Management?

We have extensive development experience in major building construction and infrastructure projects, and we use our experience to help you to manage your project in the most efficent way so as to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

We know what works best and we will recommend the best way for you to proceed, which will usually be a collaborative contractual arrangement, designed specifically for your project management.

Prequalification Of Contractors

We strongly believe in the early prequalification of contractors who may be invited to bid for your project scope of works. We aim to identify the most suitable contractor (or designer) based on our extensive industry knowledge.

Building Information Management (BIM)

Whenever possible we will endeavour to ensure that BIM is used by all parties involved in the project, including suppliers and subcontractors so as to ensure that the benefits of sharing information are maximised. We strongly believe that the use of BIM will deliver efficiencies which the beneficiary of the project will realise.

We have extensive experience of many different types of building and infrastructure projects including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Refurbishments, Roads and Rail Infrastructure Projects spanning more than half a century.

We have been involved in different roles on some major commercial and infrastructure developments carried out by very large companies both in the UK and Internationally.

If you require your project to be organised and managed efficiently we can do this by providing a specifically tailored independent Project Management Service to suit your needs.

Our first action is usually a  Strategic overview of your project, where we give you a Strategy Report and Recommendation, which you can then take review and consider in order to take your project forward.

This Strategic Report will definitively evaluate the Scope Of Works of your project, and list the inclusions and the exclusions for complete clarity and understanding.

We will also establish a Project Budget for the defined Scope Of Works, which will include a Contingency Sum to take account of the state of definition or evolution of the project and the risks involved.

We carry out a  Project Risk Assessment, where we undertake Risk Identification, and Risk Analysis, and Risk evaluation in terms of Time and Cost.

The time risks contingency is included in the Project Program/ Time Schedule, which forms part of our Strategic Report.

As part of our service, we will identify all stakeholders and create a Stakeholder Management Strategy which will cover all aspects of Stakeholder engagement and consultation.

We can offer a full Project Management Service to effectively deliver your project on your behalf. We will endeavour to establish collaborative relationships between the parties to the Contract as part of our Procurement Strategy for the project management.

We also offer a Construction Management Service, as an alternative which directly represents you and allows you to directly appoint specialist trade contractors if you do not wish to appoint a Main Contractor to carry out your project.

We can carry out Project Troubleshooting Report evaluations, where we will visit your project and evaluate the current status of every activity, and give you a fully detailed review and evaluation of necessary actions to expedite the most efficient and cost-effective delivery.

We have experience of claims and arbitration on major projects, and can help you prepare for this eventuality, although our preferred modus operandi is to utilise collaborative contracts wherever possible.

We have expert personnel in various fields of Construction and Engineering and can offer you selected individuals to carry out specific activities such as:

  • Contract Specialists for FIDIC, NEC, Construction Management, Design and Build and bespoke forms of Contract.
  • Claims preparation or Counter Claims defence.
  • Health & Safety Systems and Supervision are compliant with Health & Safety Legislation.

We use our own in-house project management and control software to manage and report on all our projects. This bespoke software has been developed over many years and as a result of extensive construction industry experience.

Every progress report will tell you the forecast out-turn status against the project budget, and program/time schedule.

It will also tell you the committed contract costs, and expenditure under each contract as well as remaining contracts to be let, and the status of contingency draw down from the total allocated Contingency (Change Management and Control System).

We can also report on Earned Value Status.

      We appoint a suitably qualified and experienced project manager who is located as near as possible to your project, and is responsible for the day to day management of the project. You would have the chance to meet, interview and approve our proposed candidate before he or she starts work. Regarding an overview of the project and how it progresses, we organize meetings of principles every quarter (or more frequently if necessary). Variances are addressed by having a recovery plan to get things back on track whether for cost, program, quality or safety. Let me know if that suits you, Alan.
